Atif Aslam, Sajal Aly, others named to UK publication’s Best Asian Celebrities list


A UK-based British Asian newspaper named several Pakistani celebrities, including Sajal Ali, Atif Aslam and Bilal Abbas, to its list of the 50 best Asian celebrities in the world for 2021.

Sajal, ranked seventh, is the only Pakistani national in the top 10, having surpassed global stars, including some from Hollywood, the music industry, television, literature and social media, as her performances in several recent dramas and a web series her in the spotlight.

“It is a great honor for me to be included in the top 10. The challenges that Covid-19 brought with itself continued into 2021, but that did not stop me from working hard,” a Sajal said about this honor.

“In fact, 2021 has been one of my busiest years with two films and two dramas in a row. As we move closer to 2022, I would like to take this moment to reiterate my commitment to my profession and I would like to ensure my fans around the world, there are more exciting projects to see in 2022. ”

Showbiz reporter Asjad Nazir, who compiled the list, told the reporter that Sajal has become an icon for a new generation.

“The prolific actress has gone from being the crown princess of Pakistani entertainment to being the undisputed queen. Her work in the web, television, film and music video space in 2021 confirms this,” Asjad said.

“Sajal is breaking new ground for Pakistani actresses with roles she takes on as her first major international project and sets a new benchmark with incredible performances. She leads the way and others follow in her footsteps.

Meanwhile, at the top of the list was India’s biggest pan-Indian star Prabhas for changing the face of the world’s biggest film industry, dethroning Bollywood, and its secret philanthropic work.

Pakistani Briton Riz Ahmed came in second for his groundbreaking work in Hollywood, including becoming the first Muslim to earn an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, starring in the big-budget film Encounter and speaking out against Islamophobia.

Third, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, who remains the most famous Indian on the planet.

Mindy Kaling, fourth, who remains Hollywood’s biggest South Asian actor, has developed several projects and is a strong symbol for working mothers.

Top ranked singer, Shreya Ghoshal (5) has delivered more hit songs in multiple languages ​​than anyone.
