BAMKO acquires distributor Sutter’s Mill Specialties for $ 24.5 million

BAMKO, Los Angeles, announced that it has acquired the assets of Sutter’s Mill Specialties Inc., Tempe, Arizona. Sutter’s Mill reported promotional product revenue of approximately $ 24.5 million in the past 12 months.

“Over the years, we have been approached by many people interested in acquiring our business, but none have the culture, capabilities or energy that the BAMKO team is capable of instilling into our business” said the president of Sutter’s Mill Specialties. Michael Butler said in a press release: “We see where our industry is heading and BAMKO has proven that they are at the forefront of this change, which is very clearly transforming the future of branded products. While the business side and the opportunities for growth are so exciting, what excites me the most is the opportunity to join forces with such a talented, hardworking and high-character management team. The future is extremely bright here at Sutter’s Mill, and I can’t wait to see how we shape that future together.

Jake Himelstein, President of BAMKO, said that the technological capabilities of Sutter’s Mill Specialties played an important role in the acquisition and that BAMKO will seek to integrate dispenser robotics and automation into its own proprietary software and operations. The acquisition, he said, also allows BAMKO to gain expertise in these areas.

“It’s not enough to just be the most technologically advanced marketer in the space,” BAMKO President Jake Himelstein told Promo Marketing. “We must continually assert this advantage and extend our lead over time. This acquisition is a major step in that direction, adding infrastructure, expertise and capabilities in the worlds of robotics, automation and artificial intelligence. “

The acquisition was completed on December 1, 2021. Financial details have not been made public at this time.

“In order to maintain our unique growth capacity, we cannot be content with our status as the best company,” Himelstein added. “We need to keep improving. The acquisition of Sutter’s Mill is an important step in this journey.”

BAMKO has been active in mergers and acquisitions this year. In February, the company acquired Gifts by Design to strengthen its capabilities in the area of awards and recognition. In October, BAMKO announced it would expand further into the uniform space.

The company ranked # 9 on Promo Marketing’s 2021 best distributors list.
