American publisher Electronic Arts has teamed up with Japanese company Koei Tecmo for a brand new game.

The duo team up for “the next great hunting game” with an all-new IP set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan. This partnership is between Koei Tecmo, along with its Omega Force studio, and EA’s Originals label, which previously focused on smaller-scale titles like Hazelight’s It Takes Two.

“It’s an honor to partner with EA Originals and to have the support of a team with such an incredible track record of releasing groundbreaking new games,” said Yosuke Hayashi, Executive Vice President of Koei Tecmo.

“The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and has become an invaluable partner offering both development and publishing support. Adding EA’s global resources to our own will help us introduce a new kind of game from hunting for a global audience of gamers and expanding our reach in global markets. I look forward to the day when gamers around the world can play this new game.”

Jeff Gamon, Managing Director of EA Partners, added, “Building on the incredible success of EA Originals, which includes recent releases of It Takes Two and Knockout City, we are thrilled to partner with the incredibly talented team of Omega Force. They took the hunting genre to the next level, fusing their proven talent for combat gameplay with unexpected and innovative mechanics. We can’t wait to bring their groundbreaking new adventure to the world later this month.
