ICM Inc. has signed an agreement with Visionary Fiber Technologies Inc. to be the exclusive distributor and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for their fiber reactor separation technology in the field of ethanol.
VFT’s patented fiber reactor technology is a refining process for raw materials such as distillery corn oil, a by-product of ethanol production. The continuous flow process is designed to remove much more impurities than traditional separation methods, resulting in clean distillery corn oil that can be sold directly to renewable diesel refineries, bypassing the pre-treatment on their site. With VFT’s fiber reactor system, there is also less downtime and higher throughput, as well as a smaller overall footprint.
“ICM is the ideal distribution partner for VFT in the ethanol industry – they recognize the vision and opportunity to create significant value for ethanol producers from renewable diesel,” said John Kinzer, CEO of VFT. “We look forward to seeing our technology widely deployed to help ethanol refineries diversify their revenues and associated cash flows derived from the emergence of the renewable energy industry. “
The fiber reactor features a small footprint, frame mounted design with fast processing capability. “We are excited to work with VFT and present to customers the benefits of adopting this new separation process for distillery corn oil,” said Tom Ranallo, ICM vice president of operations. “This collaboration aligns naturally with ICM’s goal of continuously innovating to help our customers increase both efficiency and value.
“With the recent increase in the demand for raw materials for renewable diesel, this technology represents an excellent opportunity for ethanol plants to obtain more value for their production of corn oil as prices in the market. continue to reach new heights, ”Ranallo added.
The ICM will present a mini tabletop fiber reactor at the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo 2021, July 13-15. Participants can view the exhibition at booth 821.
The license agreement between ICM and VFT was signed in May. ICM is already accepting orders for this innovative offer.
