Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has promoted Pete Simmons to Head of A&R, UK, effective immediately.
Based in London, he will continue to report to Mike McCormack, Managing Director of UMPG UK.
Simmons joined UMPG as an A&R scout in 2014.
UMPG claim that Simmons has since “become one of the most respected young talents in the industry in the UK”.
Simmons previously held the positions of A&R Manager and A&R Director for the past few years.
He serves as A&R for UMPG talents including Bicep, Four Tet, Maisie Peters, Griff, girl in red, Rex Orange County, Tom Misch and Thundercat.
Simmons has been nominated twice for Dance & Electronic A&R at the A&R Awards (in 2019 and 2021), the annual UK-focused awards ceremony presented by Music Business Worldwide in London.
“Even though he is one of the youngest A&Rs at a major company, he has shown maturity and confidence far beyond his years.”

“I look forward to watching him grow as a leader at UMPG, as we build on UMPG’s first global strategy to nurture and support the next generation of songwriting talent across all territories.”
