August 3 — Washington, D.C. — Prestige-Ledroit Distributing announced this month its appointment as exclusive Mid-Atlantic distributor for Dry Creek Vineyards.
The partnership aligns the two companies by combining the strength of Prestige-Ledroit’s mid-Atlantic relationships and Dry Creek Vineyards’ heritage as the pioneer of the Dry Creek AVA in Sonoma County.
Established in 1972, Dry Creek Vineyard remains a family business and has just celebrated its 50th anniversary. When founder David Stare launched Dry Creek Vineyard, he started the winery with a single-minded effort to deliver the highest quality wine at a reasonable price. Dave realized that the winery’s success hinged on providing “something special” in the bottle to keep customers coming back for more. Today, the second generation continues to build on these values established at the beginning. Dave’s daughter and president of the winery, Kim Stare Wallace, is completely dedicated to the quality of the wine produced at Dry Creek Vineyard. The objective remains the same: to produce high quality wines while respecting the original vision of the estate.
Chris Schmid, SVP of Prestige-Ledroit, “For our portfolio, we continue to seek out iconic independent family vineyards and there is no better example than Dry Creek Vineyard. They have a rich multi-generational heritage dating back 50 years and have helped pave the way for the renaissance of winemaking and viticulture in the Dry Creek Valley. Our goal is to build on the incredible success they have had and help reintroduce our market to their wines , which are better now than they have ever been.
