PRINTING United Expo 2022 ends with expectations far exceeded

PRINTING United Expo, the largest printing and graphic arts event in 2022 – representing all facets of the industry – opened its doors last week to bring together attendees and exhibitors from around the world for the first time under under one roof since 2019. Held October 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the global event drew attendees from 121 countries and was considered a resounding success by attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and partners.

“The powerful emotions felt in Las Vegas last week were like nothing you could put into words,” said Mark J. Subers, president of PRINTING United Expo. “I really have never seen so much engagement on a show – ever. In the words of so many attendees and exhibitors we spoke with, it was like a kind of global gathering. What the event did to bring the community together is that he revitalized the industry. The smiles, enthusiasm and energy were simply out of this world.

“PRINTING United Alliance built the platform, but every attendee and exhibitor who engaged with Expo is responsible for the incredibly overwhelming success enjoyed by all,” Subers continues. “Product launches, live demos, keynote presentations – it all contributed to such a positive experience for everyone. A very special thank you to title sponsor, HP, whose complete takeover of the room has showed the company’s support for the event as well as a reflection of its endless end-to-end solutions showcased, sold and unveiled!

PRINTING United Expo in numbers

A total of 701 exhibitors from around the world occupied 1 million square feet of exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Of particular note, global CEOs, managing directors and top executives were present this year to support the commercial, digital, apparel, digital textile, packaging, direct mail and fulfillment spaces, and graphics/large format.

From an attendance perspective, there were 7% more visitors on-site this year in Las Vegas than at the inaugural show in Dallas in 2019. Based on figures recently provided by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR ), the authority on trade shows and events, PRINTING United Expo has surpassed exhibitions in other industries this year in total registrations by approximately 25%.

Moreover, the freight of PRINTING United Expo exceeded 5 million pounds. at this year’s event.

“One of the main reasons this year’s event was such a success is the fact that all of the equipment uses multiple substrates and soft products on the show floor,” says Subers. “That’s what the attendees said they wanted to see and experience, and the exhibitors did. PRINTING United Expo has always been the equipment show, but the expansion of substrate companies has made it a very comprehensive show. Booth sales are well underway for next year’s event in Atlanta (October 18-20), with more than 80% of the exhibit hall already booked.

“It was fantastic to be back at PRINTING United Expo. Lawson has exhibited at every SGIA/PRINTING United Expo since the original exhibit began in the 1950s, so she holds a special place in our hearts. In fact, three generations of Landesmans (Gene, Ben and David, and now Taylor) have represented Lawson at the show. Every year we are reminded how much of an opportunity exhibiting at the show gives us to reunite with old friends, make new business relationships and see emerging technologies in our industry.

“PRINTING United has been a huge success on many levels. First, PRINTING United has now established itself as a show where the mail community can come to view a wide range of the latest mail technology and exchange ideas from a significant number of vendors. Envelope mailing community engagement between exhibitors and attendees has been very good, and we expect this to continue to grow as the mail industry has evolved to a higher level of new opportunities. in paper communications. As for W+D, PRINTING United Expo exceeded our expectations with three W+D BB1000 all-in-one converting and inserting machines ordered after seeing this new machine for the first time at the show.
