RUCOINX will showcase its plastic printing solutions at K 2022

RUCOINX will showcase its range of eco-friendly and consumer-friendly printing inks for decorating all types of plastics at K 2022 (Hall 4/Stand B08), the leading trade show for the plastics and rubber industry, October 19–26 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

With a brand new logo featuring the addition of INX lettering, the printing ink specialist based in Eppstein, Germany is now affiliated with the world leader Sakata INX Corporation.

The focus will be on the proven 955LED-LM screen printing inks and a new series of low migration LED screen printing. The latter is for printing on plastic hollow bodies, which is about to be launched in the market. Particular attention will also be paid to the company’s solvent-based pad printing inks with the T200, T120 and T35 series.

The 955LED-LM series of inks, developed for printing on polyethylene plastic tubes, is still a reference product on the market today. The low-migration, silicone-free inks represent a pure LED curing system and meet the stringent requirements of Swiss Ordinance SR 817.023.21 regarding the EuPIA suitability list of photoinitiators and the Nestlé guidance note on photoinitiator inks. packaging.

The series is also approved for use in printing on the outer surface of plastic packaging for the food and cosmetics industries. The completely silicone-free formulation of the inks makes them ideal for combining with each other, as well as with other ink and varnish systems and allowing embossing. Although the 955LED-LM series is a pure LED curing system – meaning additional UV curing is not required – curing using conventional UV technology is also possible, if preferred.

Visitors will also be able to preview a new series of low-migration LED screen printing inks, which is about to be launched and has been developed especially for printing on beverage bottles and hollow bodies in polyolefins. From a regulatory point of view, the new series of inks meets the latest requirements for printing on the outer surface of food and cosmetic packaging.

In addition to the two aforementioned low-migration ink series for hollow plastic bodies, RUCOINX will also present other ink systems at K 2022. These inks meet particularly high demands in terms of environmental compatibility and user-friendliness for the consumer, and are also approved for outdoor use. surface of food packaging.

First and foremost are the one and two component inks of the T200 series for screen and pad printing. They are designed for use on a wide range of plastic materials used in the packaging, advertising, electrical, appliance and automotive industries. These high gloss, scratch and abrasion resistant inks are free of phthalates and BPA, as well as cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents, barium, fluorine and bromine, and are distinguished by their excellent levels of mechanical and chemical resistance.

The one- and two-component inks of the T120 series are specially designed for rotary pad printing. Their main field of application is the high-speed decoration of pre-treated polypropylene and polyethylene bottle caps. T120 inks are free of phthalates, halogens and BPA, as well as cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents and barium.

The inks of the T35 pad printing series have been developed with the very sensitive field of toy decoration in mind. These inks meet all the strict requirements specified in the current European standard EN 71-3 Safety of toys – Part 3 Migration of certain elements. Free of phthalates, halogens and BPA, they do not contain cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents or barium. The inks have high elasticity and are suitable for extremely high printing speeds.

RUCOINX will also offer the 085UV-LM series of low migration inks, specially designed for decorating polyolefin and polystyrene cups, buckets and lids by dry UV offset printing. These inks offer excellent resistance to adhesion and abrasion and allow high printing speeds to be achieved thanks to their high reactivity. This series of inks conform to Nestlé standards and are certified as low migration inks by an independent testing institute.
