An established marine accessories distributor with over 100 years of success is seeking a competitive Field Sales Representative to manage Connecticut’s existing sales territory. The successful candidate will find new sales opportunities, qualify prospects, present dealer buying programs, negotiate with customers and close sales. Experience with boat accessories and / or the boating industry an asset. Competitive compensation package, full benefit package including company vehicle, expenses and profit sharing.

Responsibilities and expectations:

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive long-term relationships with dealers
  • Present, promote and sell products, purchasing programs and services
  • Use sales tools including samples, merchandising, website support, point of sale materials, and product literature to increase sales
  • Establish a daily work schedule to appeal to current and potential dealers
  • Provide dealers with quotes, write orders, resolve issues and follow up
  • Develop strong technical product knowledge by attending seminars, sales meetings, boat shows, workshops and reviewing industry publications
  • Participate in networking events and professional associations
  • Gather market information on prices, products and marketing campaigns
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, field issues, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
  • Coordinate sales efforts with other team members and assist with accounts receivable as needed to keep accounts up to date
