COREbike is coming back in March, what can Windwave dealers expect?
FFirst and foremost, 2022 marks our 35th anniversary. COREbike will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate this with our dealers and industry network, and we look forward to it!

On the product side, our brands have been very busy lately and we will have many exciting new bikes and P&A products featured on our brand new displays. Among others we will have the brand new OSPW Gold Edition from CeramicSpeed, the Metron range from Vision, the NS AGX VAS stem from FSA, the brand new Linea range of helmets from Dainese, the MIG HT from Thok, the Spire alloy from Transition and many more… This will also be the first time we’ll have Granite Design products on display.

Why are shows like COREbike so important to the bike industry?
When it comes to identifying exciting new products for your bike shop, it’s nearly impossible to replicate seeing them in real life. Catalogs and websites are great and very convenient, but can’t always convey the real value of a product.

Along with recognizing a product’s market appeal, you can also take a closer look at packaging, display options, product size, and space requirements in your store. This gives you a better idea of the big picture that is the bike business: are you investing in a full range or just one product? Can you order 10, 50 or 100? Do you need a specific POS or decor? How much margin and what potential profit can you make from a single buy-in? And repeat redemptions?

On top of that, trade shows like COREbike are also a good opportunity to put faces to names and/or voices you may have dealt with in the past. We pride ourselves on having one of the friendliest teams here at Windwave and everyone is eager to get together and meet face to face.

Windwave won Bike Distributor of the Year at the BikeBiz Awards 2021 – what did it mean to win?
Winning Bike Distributor of the Year at the 2021 BikeBiz Awards was definitely a big highlight for us. We’ve worked hard over the years to get the best bikes to the best dealers and build the best relationships and this award was the culmination of all that effort.

Our award is now proudly displayed in our meeting room, alongside the Tour de France 2021 yellow jersey signed by Tadej Pogačar and our CeramicSpeed Distributor of the Year award. Talk about an epic year!

Looking ahead to 2022, what can we expect from business and industry?
2022 will therefore be an interesting year. While we expect to see the pandemic boom settle down a bit in some areas, we also expect the supply chain backlog to gradually return to a more normal state.

For our current brands, we expect demand to remain as high as it has been for the past two years. The exciting challenge ahead will be to explore different avenues where the growth of cycling continues to explode (we are closely watching the industry’s move towards more electrification in particular).
